David Green was a coach and teacher for 49 years before retiring in early 2022. During his retirement, he has done a podcast, "Did I Ever Tell You About..." on Youtube, Spotify and Apple, in which he largely tells stories from his long career. He has long collected stories with the idea of one day writing a book. In 2025, David started writing children's books centered around the pets he and his wife have: Gilda and Barnaby, two Aussies, and their housemate the Devil Cat. The books are all based on true adventures of the animals, although somewhat exaggerated. Now, David has put the stories about his career together and written "It Was Never Just the Game: True Stories From 49 Years of Coaching:. With two many stories for one book, David plans to write a sequel.
