David M. Kaniecki, DNP, ACNP, is a flight nurse, acute care nurse practitioner, and author with over 15 years in emergency and critical care transport. He has flown with the Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland Metro Life Flight teams, responding to critical emergencies — from drowning victims and trauma patients to cardiac arrests in the sky. David serves as Critical Care Transport Educator at Case Western Reserve University's Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, training the next generation of critical care providers. He is a Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award recipient. His books bring readers inside the world of air medical transport. Operation Flight Nurse chronicles real-life helicopter rescue missions, while Lessons from the Sky teaches parents how to protect their children from life-threatening emergencies.
