Davy Murrah is the author of two books, WATERSHED: Herman Murrah and the Pascagoula River Swamp and SWAMP SECRETS. He has been nominated by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters for their "Life Writing Award". His writing style has been favorably compared by an award-winning author to that of Mark Twain. Davy has spent most of his life in South Mississippi, more specifically, the Pascagoula River Swamp. He has hunted, fished and explored the Pascagoula River Basin. His degree in Marine Engineering from Mississippi State University afforded Davy the opportunity to visit and work remote corners of this world, although his heart remained constantly in the Pascagoula River Swamp. Davy has been a columnist for a local newspaper, is currently a weekly guest on a local radio station, and a frequent speaker at Historical Societies and other special interest groups. His ongoing passion is his public advocacy for the Pascagoula River and it's Swamp centered around his public Facebook page "Friends of Pascagoula River WMA". His beloved wife, Gwen, is his partner in all his endeavors as editor, proofreader, photographer, techy, sounding board and much more.
