Elva Cobb Martin is a multi-published Christian author, a mother and grandmother. South Carolina, her home for several generations, inspires her writing. Happily married to her high school sweetheart, Dwayne, for many years, and as a former schoolteacher and minister, she is enjoying retirement years and time for writing. She is active in a local church family and intercessory groups including Intercessors for America. A life-long student of history, her favorite city is Charleston, SC, aglow with its pirates, patriots, and plantations. Most of her books begin there and often proceed to the High Seas and the Caribbean. Her latest historical romance series, Charleston Brides, includes six books. Her first published, 2-book series, The Barretts of Charleston, began her writing career in her busy seventies. She likes romantic stories with adventure and strong Christian themes, and interesting heroes and heroines who can win her readers' hearts. Her love of writing grew out of a desire to share exciting stories of courageous characters and communicate truths of the Christian faith to inspire hope and encouragement. Elva enjoys sharing her faith and believes people need and want to know how wonderful Jesus Christ is, and she gives Him the glory for any writing successes. Daily she prays for her readers to be blessed and inspired by her stories to reach for God's great plan for their lives. All her published novels have spent time on Amazon's 100 Best Sellers List for Women's Religious Fiction. Elva is also the author of a non-fiction brief Bible study booklet, Power Over Satan: How to Discern and Defeat the Enemy's Plans Against You. When not writing, she enjoys researching old properties, baking, gardening, and chocolate anything. She always stops to pet puppies, love on babies, and smell the roses. (March 2026, update)
