Kristen Joy Wilks writes from a remote mountain meadow that alternates between quiet and chaos. The mom of three sons, a cat named Whisper Persnickety, and a giant Newfoundland dog named Nessie Grace Karu, she lives with her camp director husband at Camas Meadows Bible Camp. Kristen’s meadow used to have its very own elk wallow until Grandpa Del dug it out to create a pond. She and her brother spent their summers building boats out of old boards, inner tubes, and baling twine to sail across its froggy depths. Kristen’s stories highlight the humor and grace God gives amidst the detritus of life. When she’s not throwing sticks into the pond for Nessie to barrel after with a giant splash, Kristen can be found tucked under a tattered quilt at 4:00 a.m. writing a wide variety of implausible tales.
