Born and raised in the projects of Opelousas, Louisiana, I’ve lived a life most wouldn’t believe if they didn’t read it themselves. I’m an Army veteran, a wife to a 20-year vet I met at Ft. Hood, a mother of four sons—including an Arctic Airborne soldier—and a survivor of everything life threw at me. I carry the titles of author, MBA grad, business owner, and grandmother—but my story didn’t start in boardrooms or blessings. It started in pain, silence, and survival. Writing this book wasn’t about telling my story—it was about freeing myself from it. And maybe, just maybe, helping someone else do the same.
