Maggie Nick is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma therapist, parenting expert and Recovering Good Kid who finally, finally feels lovable as hell. She can’t wait to help you get there, too. For most of her life, Maggie was the one "nobody ever needed to worry about"— praised for being easy-going and the one everyone could always count on. Believing she had a "great childhood," she didn't realize until she was 25 and in therapy that her overachieving, people pleasing, perfectionism, and raging selflessness weren't her personality…they were lifelong relational trauma responses. Her healing journey began as a fierce mission: to understand what the hell happened to her so she could break the cycle for her own kids. Relentlessly exploring and researching the stunning parallels she saw between her own healing and the experiences of her child and adult counseling clients led her to become a leading expert on Good Kid Trauma (relational shame trauma) and a trusted voice for parents wanting to break generational cycles for their kids. Maggie created her rebellious online community Camp Lovable to help Recovering Good Kids stop feeling like they have to be perfect all the damn time and learn how to say no and set boundaries without going into a panic. Maggie’s "Good Girl" Rehab Membership connects women around the world in a safe, sacred space where they can stop needing to prove their goodness and finally feel worthy and good enough. Maggie received her Masters in Social Work from Indiana University and her Bachelors in Sociology with a double major in Psychology from Virginia Tech. Her work is a fierce mix of hope and hard truths, guiding you back home to yourself. She's on a mission to help the world break cycles for our kids, and for the parts of ourselves that were never allowed to be messy and imperfect. Maggie lives near the beach in Florida with her husband, two kids and beloved dogs.
