Medha Bio Medha Deshmukh Bhaskaran is the author of Chhatrapati Shivaji's bestselling biography, Challenging Destiny, published by Crossword Bookstores. It was nominated in two categories at the Raymond Crossword Book Awards in 2017. Challenging Destiny now proudly carries the designation of ‘National Bestseller’ and has been translated into Marathi, Hindi, and Kannada. Also available as an audiobook. Challenging Destiny for Young Readers was launched in February 2025 by Crossword Bookstores. Three of her (historical fiction) books are published by Penguin Random House. 1) Frontiers – The Relentless Battle between Aurangzeb and Shivaji, 2) Life and Death of Sambhaji, 3) Queen Tara - Kali of the Deccan. These books are translated into (or in the process of getting translated into) various languages. One of them has been an Amazon bestseller and is also available as an audiobook. Sakal Media Group published 2 of her books: 1) 'Up Against Darkness’, 2) ‘The Story of Immunity’. Up Against Darkness won the FICCI Special Jury Award for Publishing in 2024. It is translated into Marathi. Medha is a microbiologist who has also worked in marketing and business development for food and pharmaceutical companies in countries such as Germany, India, and the United Arab Emirates. From a young age, she has dabbled in poetry in Marathi and English. Medha has written articles on various subjects for leading newspapers in India (Indian Express) and in the Gulf (Khaleej Times and Gulf News).
