Rhonda received a BS in Elementary Education in 1994 from the College of Charleston went on to add a MA in English from the Citadel and twice earned National Board status as a Middle Childhood Generalist. Over her 30 years of teaching, she participated in the SC Reading Initiative, received a Gifted and Talented endorsement and promoted the Arts with STEAM opportunities for her students. Her love for reading and comfort with creative writing allowed her students opportunities to flourish and extend their learning in all subjects. According to Rhonda, she could live in a library, and librarians are teachers’ best friends. Rhonda is a Fellow of the Charleston Writing Project, and her work is on display at the SC Artisans Center in Walterboro, SC. The SC Lowcountry is the focal point for her writing. She continues to support literacy by volunteering on the board of Community Innovations (Colleton) and offering her services to schools and PTAs.
