As a Michigan-born author, Rodger James spent his summers outdoors, always busy with work but never missing a chance to enjoy time at his grandparents’ cottage by the lake. The family cottage became a source of inspiration, where days were filled with swimming, skiing, and playing water volleyball with friends and neighbors. These experiences influenced his storytelling with a personal touch and have found their way into his creative work. Like many writers, getting started was always the hardest part, but Rodger James has always been a creative storyteller, and once he got an idea for a story, the words came easily to him. His early ambition was to become a movie manuscript writer, and one of his manuscripts was passed from person to person, eventually reaching the home of an MGM Vice President. Six months later, he received a personal call from the Vice President, praising his work. Although he didn’t pursue the film industry further, this recognition served as a huge affirmation of his talent. Not one to give up, Rodger turned his attention to publishing his work in book form. Family and friends, always supportive, were intrigued by his stories, which are often inspired by life experiences. Encouraged by their feedback, he continued to write, creating books with unique plots and fresh plot twists that set him apart as an author known for originality. Rodger’s dedication led to an exciting opportunity—working on a documentary project, where he contributed a compelling narrative that was eventually recognized with a Telly Award. However, as an uncredited documentary writer, his name was never attached to the award-winning project. Even so, this didn’t stop his drive, and he continued honing his craft. Now, as a Mississippi-based author, Rodger is still passionate about writing. Whether it’s the story he’s currently working on or the next one he dreams of, his passion for storytelling is relentless. His compelling narratives are not the repetitive kind; each of his books brings a new and exciting plot twist, which has become his signature style. One of his latest ideas is to write a book combining two characters from his previous works, a concept that has never been done before.
