Thomas O. Burkig has more than twenty years of experience in the human services field as a diagnostician, psychologist, and administrator. He served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam veteran. He holds master’s degrees in psychology and sociology and a Ph.D. in Child and Family Counseling. Over the years, he has acquired vast insight into the healing process of children, youth, and adults suffering from various degrees of trauma and/or abuse. He married his wife, Gloria, in 1969, and they lived happily together until her death from liver cancer in December 2022. He has written several books addressing the human capacity for love and care for one another.
