Valencia graduated from the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa campus with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and from Georgia State University with a Master of Science in Nursing. She has been a registered nurse for over thirty-five years, a nurse practitioner for fifteen years, and a military trauma nurse for over eleven years. Valencia has two adult children, Keeniel and Mia, a granddaughter, Wynter Skye, and a German Shepherd named Milo. She has written over six children's books. She enjoys writing in her leisure time and spending time with her family.
