This is the first book of Raya's that I've read / listened to and it did not disappoint! The narrators really brought the characters to life and you could feel the chemistry between them. I love a good damsel in distress story and the hurt/comfort trope and Diane and Westin definitely have that going on. He's so down bad for Diane and I love that. It was suspenseful enough to keep me guessing and the pacing was perfect for moving the plot along. And the spice! I wasn't quite sure how the BDSM aspect was going to fit in but it felt seamless and made sense to the storyline. Now I can't wait for Deacon!

I’m sorry to put a bad review out there but I just couldn’t finish this one. I like books with a deeper storyline, but this was not it. I didn’t believe or wasn’t interested in their relationship bc you have little background to the characters. And yes I read the first book. Just wasn’t for me.

I didn’t think it would come close to being as good as book one…. But it was just as good! Hot, spicy, and with plenty of plot!!! Suspense, the need to protect her, guilt, love… so good!

Westin was so good!

First off, Hannah Chiclana and Jack Calihan were SO GOOD as Diane & Westin! I read along while reading & it made the story even better! I ate them up!!!

This one has the same themes as book 1, very spicy, very dark, very possessive/obsessed cowboy! BUT, can we just appreciate that Westin is a "bad man", but the softness he has for Diane is swoon worthy?! I loved them, okay?!

Westin is quite a bit older (yay age gap!), but he is all in for Diane! Some of this one felt familiar as it was happening the same time as some book 1 events, buuuut things look a little different from Westin & Diane versus Mr Sovereign lol. They are definitely put THROUGH IT there for a bit, but how they get their HEA is so well done! They both has some past traumas, but how they help one another move past those & grow, SO SO GOOD!

At this point, I am obsessed with this series & these story lines!
