The object of this book is to provide a simple introduction to the Indian systems of philosophy. Each one of these systems has had a vast and varied development. Attempt has been made to introduce the listener to the spirit and outlook of Indian philosophy and help him to grasp thoroughly the central ideas rather than acquaint him with minute details. Modern students of philosophy feel many difficulties in understanding the Indian problems and theories. Their long experience with university students has helped the authors to realise these, and they have tried to remove them as far as possible. This accounts for most of the critical discussions which could otherwise have been dispensed with.

Looking for one thing to focus on for a positive review - Vocabulary. You did a wonderful, or presented wonderfully, etc. a diverse vocabulary of very nuanced subject materials of great importance to others. I realized into the text that that is assuredly what I was there for, in comprehension, to understand the language of organizing thoughts and ancient wisdoms.

Thank you for your very indepth introduction

This should be titled, “A Dictionary of Indian Religions”. You get to listen to someone dryly describe the various beliefs of religious sects without any background of why they came to be or who proposed and rebutted them. It’s as though the author was so afraid to offend anyone that he refused to mention any dissenting ideas. Disagreement is the core of philosophy.
