The day Death comes to Lazarus Gaumond’s town and kills everyone in one fell swoop, the last thing he expects to see is a woman left alive and standing. But Lazarus has her own extraordinary gift: she cannot be killed—not by humans, not by the elements, not by Death himself.

She is the one soul Death doesn’t recognize. The one soul he cannot pry free from her flesh. Nor can he ignore the unsettling desire he has for her. Take her. He wants to, desperately. And the longer she tries to stop him from his killing spree, the stronger the desire becomes.

When Lazarus crosses paths with the three other horsemen, an unthinkable situation leads to a terrible deal: seduce Death, save the world. A hopeless task, made all the worse by the bad blood between her and Thanatos. But Death’s attraction to her is undeniable, and try though she might, Lazarus cannot stay away from that ancient, beautiful being and his dark embrace.

The end is here. Humankind is set to perish, and not even the horsemen can stop Death from fulfilling his final task.

Only Lazarus can.

I cried. A lot

Incredible ending to the four horsemen story. Loved every one. Highly recommend to anyone. But dang this one really got me in the feels! I love graphic audio as well

Perfection

I am not sure I have the words yet for this review. I just finished at almost 2 in the morning and now I don’t know if I’ll be finding sleep easily. This was such a perfect, but bittersweet, ending to the series. I honestly don’t feel like it could have ended another way. It was just sheer perfection. I am so glad I found the Bargainer series earlier this year, or I might not have listened to this series. Before this, I wasn’t sure I would like the storyline of the four horsemen, but man it was worth it. My only “downside” was that the FMC narrator’s southern accent slipped sometimes towards the beginning of the book. It cleaned up as things went on though. Thanatos’ voice was 😍 10/10

Such a torturous love

I loved all of the series! We catch glimpses of Death in prior books, so it was great as we got to understand his character. The ending had me in so much tears. Love the story and the series!

What an amazing series

Loved all of the books and the different aspects. This by far was my favourite book. I laughed and I cried. Just finished this book and now I’m left with a sense of emptiness. Unsure if any other series will live up to this.

Favorite series!!!

Honestly I did not want this series to end!!! I need them in my life again! If I could go back and reread all of them, I would read slower 😭😭😭 I cannot recommend this series enough! I even paid way too much for the OG Indie cover paperback copies on eBay 🤣 Just spend the credits… you won’t regret it!
