There are rules that keep the universe in line, that keep Death and Fate balanced in a delicate dance.

A Reaper can't feel.

A Reaper can't love.

A Reaper can't die.

Sephtis

Reapers can't feel. We aren't born. We're created from the essence of the dead, from Death himself breathing us into existence. We have one purpose.

Ferry mortals to the afterlife so they can be judged, weighed, and born anew.

I've taken countless human souls, and I've never cared… until I met a human who made me throw everything away for the chance to feel him for just a moment before he died.

And then… I saw his twin brother.

Cole

I don't know who the man is, but I hate him. He was with Caiden when he died. He was there when I couldn't be.

And now he won't leave me alone. I think about him all the time. I dream about him.

All I want is for him to get out of my head.

All I want is to know why he's looking at me like I'm the only thing he can see.

And all I want to know is why, when I nearly die, is he there to take my hand?

Death's Kiss is a dual POV MM Romance about a Reaper and the human he'd do anything to keep, even if it means defying his very nature and going against Fate. Expect intense emotions and a journey of grief and love. HEA guaranteed. While it can be listened to as a standalone, the series is best enjoyed in order.

The last hour of this title had me in tears of sorrow and tears of joy. That scene where Cole says goodbye to his twin Caden was devastatingly beautiful. I loved Sephtis and Cole, following them on their journey to their HEA was wonderful. I loved book 1 in this series, book 2 I love just as much if not more. I hope we get to see the ex cupid get his HEA with his Liam in this series. Chef's kiss to Michael Gallagher and Liam DiCosimo's performance.

5 Starz - I would listen again

Okay, so this surprised me in the best way. This one is very much a feelings first kind of story, and it carries this quiet, aching sadness all the way through that really stuck with me. I loved the idea of a reaper who isn’t supposed to feel anything… and then very obviously feels everything. The grief, the longing, the inevitability of fate, it all blends together in a way that feels soft but heavy at the same time. The romance is slow, tender, and emotional rather than spicy or action-packed, which totally worked for me. Did I want a little more in a few places? Yeah. But overall, this was a beautifully bittersweet read that made me sit there for a minute after I finished, just thinking about it.

Bittersweet, Emotional, and Full of Heart

I liked this second book in the A Twisted Fate series so much better than the first. I really felt an emotional connection to both MCs this time around. Maybe it was because we actually got the trauma spelled out for us in Cole’s case instead of slowly hinting at like it was for Theo. And Cole blaming Sephtis for his part in causing that trauma added an additional layer to their dynamic especially with Sephtis basically taking it all on the chin and telling Cole he doesn’t care if he hates him, he is never leaving him. Even if that means he has to watch and protect him from afar only.

One of my favorite parts of reading paranormal romances like this is when there is a character like Sephtis who is experiencing true emotions for the first time and basically becomes a mega simp. They think it’s totally normal to confess things like “I’d let you burn me alive if it meant you’d run your fingers through my ashes to scatter me to the winds.” 😂

The story bringing together the big boss character, Fate, from the first book and showing us that his story is somehow intertwined with the antagonist, Death, helped build up the Twisted Fates universe and dropped breadcrumbs that I am curious to explore in future installments.

Characters were easier to connect to than in first book in series.
