The drama!!!

I could not stop listening. After listening to this, I can’t imagine being tossed into a world that I don’t belong or maybe I do belong.

This gave me all the feels

I went into this series completely blind after buying the set, and let me tell you, I loved it. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about a high school romance, but it moves into the future pretty quickly and had me all in from the start. The first book shattered my heart, and the rest helped put it back together.

The narrator did an amazing job bringing each character to life. Her emotional delivery pulled me right into the story. I felt everything they felt and stayed fully locked in the entire time.

Brooklyn went through so much. Her trauma felt raw and real, and Matt was there for her in the moments she needed someone. But the fact that he kept her a secret? She deserved better. The bully romance was done right, full of drama and growth without feeling over the top.

If you're looking for a binge-worthy series that follows the same characters as they grow up and go through real struggles, grab this one. I’m so glad I took a chance on it.

that the main character was misunderstood and didn’t know where to go in life

I was really excited about the book at first! However, the author made Brooklyn seem a bit too intense towards the end, and I found it hard to connect with that. It would have been better if there had been a jump in time or something. The story got too focused on one part, which threw me off. I’m already done because you’re throwing me so many twists with her. I understand it’s a high school setting, but a 16 year-old shouldn’t be dealing with all this at once. She only met this boy a few months ago, and they’re already talking about a wedding. I’m not sure about you, but I’d prefer her to be with a security guard because I felt like the security guard understood her better than the main male character. But, overall, this isn’t a bad book. It just goes in too many directions at once, and I’d recommend it to people who enjoy this kind of story. It’s my first time listening to it, so I’ll give you a 10 out of eight. You’re an amazing author, but you just threw me in loops with this story!

Like it but the main character drives me nuts!

I did really enjoy this book and love Ivy Smoak, I knew it was a high school type of narrative but my gosh the main character annoyed the ever loving crap out of me. She was such a whiner. Still kept listening because the narrator made it bearable but this is probably my least favorite series from this author. My expectations are very high since the made of steel series though.

The story moved along, but the MC was so irritating I had to force myself to finish this series. She is definitely not a role model for young women.
