Adrian and Kendra are a match made in Hell.

Adrian's dark past left him with a twisted imagination that takes him deep into the forest where he does unspeakable things. Kendra is new to town. She has a dark secret of her own—and an unhealthy obsession with a boy she hasn't even met yet.

Until Adrian met Kendra, he had his deviant urges under control. When she comes to him for help, his capacity for violence goes beyond anything either of them could have imagined.

Seriously, it’s so dark and gross but full makes sense. It’s a grotesque splatter analysis of whether people are born the way they are… or if they can be made into a monster…

One of the gnarliest books I’ve ever read

This audiobook is intense in the best way.

The narration perfectly matches the brutality and madness of the story, making the horror feel immediate and immersive. This isn’t background listening you’re pulled straight into the gore, tension, and transformation. If you’re into extreme horror or splatterpunk, this is exactly the kind of audiobook that sticks with you.

Highly recommend listening with headphones… if you’re brave enough.

Rob, generously, provided this book as an advanced review copy. I apologize for the delay-life, ya know. But, holy flippin crap. While there are some rough areas, this story … the lives of these people … this is an amazing debut. Gory. Gross. Engaging. Well constructed. I loved this so much that I’ve already purchased the kindle book to go along with my ARC and will probably pick up a physical copy, as well.

Updated 12/5/2025 - So, here we are once again. I have received ANOTHER freebie of the audiophile media. I waited for this for sooooo long and it, absolutely, surpassed my expectations! This was a great performance for an, equally, great debut! Rob is an author to watch and he has my support and recommendations. Thanks, man!

I don't even know where to start on this. I appreciated in the very beginning explaining the difference between horror and splatterpunk being that horror has a reason and splatterpunk is extreme for the sake of being extreme. as much as I agree with that, there is some sick, twisted way that Adrian's actions made sense. The boy was abused beyond belief and through those crucial developmental stages of life, he had to be in survival mode. His drive for revenge was definitely the worst of the worst in intrusive thoughts he put into action.

The intense details of grotesque sexual acts, intense physical emotional and sexual abuse, and the gory retelling of murderous revenge for painting a picture almost as intense as the bloody walls throughout the book.

the audible narrator was fantastic in his narrative retelling as well as tone switches for different characters speaking. it was a very immersive and intense listen. There was even a point where I was near tears at the intense emotion that Adrian felt explaining why he was becoming the person he was and why he was doing what he was doing. Which is a very weird feeling for what he was doing to Tommy and Devin.

I would listen to Chuck again and read from Rob again. Hands down. Congratulations on this monstrosity.

Revenge is best as grotesque and messy as possible
