I absolutely love this book, can’t wait for the sequel to come out. I was on edge the whole way through and the narrators flowed nicely together

When I say that I went into this book blind, I mean that I just hit play on my Audible app without seeing what was up next in the que. I hadn't even looked at the summary so I was completely clueless on where this story was going.

Basically we meet our FMC Alira, a devoted demigod knight (even though I really had no idea what that entailed). She is going through some type of time loop (think Groundhog Day) where she is apparently fighting and being killed by this certain Demon Knight EVERY SINGLE TIME. I gathered the demons were their enemies - she is a demi-god - and the two factions are at war.

Things happen and Alira volunteers to enter into a marriage agreement with the demons (still not really sure why she did that) but it will supposedly create the truce that both sides need. As things evolve, we begin to learn that there is actually history between these two characters and things begin to get interesting.

This is the first book and the end of this book does set up the events for what ever is going to happen next. As usual in stories like this, there are gods at play and whenever that happens, it is usually because said gods are either bored, or they want to stir up trouble. Neither of those possibilities are good.

I hope that there will be a bit more thorough building in the next book and maybe some history to go along with it as well so that we can get a better understanding on the "why" what happened to each of them as children had to happen.

I so can't wait for the next book. I seriously hate falling in love with a book, only to find out I get to wait over six months for the next one. but it's sooo sooo gonna be worth it! I haven't falling for a book so fast since quicksilver, fourth wing and malicent! absolutely worth reading and the audible is stunning!

Im usually too lazy to leave a review. Only doing so in hopes that Theodore Zephyr will narrate every single work of smut going forward. His deep emotive voice is MAGNIFICENT.

I’m listening to his freaking narration on Vikings just to hear more ffs
