SLEEPER: The Palisades Edition

Went to bed at: Late.

How long it took to fall asleep: Forever. I have insomnia. Duh.

Number of caffeinated beverages you had consumed: Zero. Thanks for advising me to quit!

My stress level is off the charts.

I can’t sleep right on a normal day, and lately my days are filled with the best kind of chaos.

My ex-wife and husband number two are filming in Poland for three months, so I’m turning down movie parts to focus on the most important role of my life—impossibly charming and somewhat capable young single dad.

My son won’t stop asking questions.

My daughter won’t brush her teeth unless I sing her showtunes.

Our regular nanny quit.

The only person I could trust to hire as a temp nanny is my best friend’s sister.

If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa.

Fresh out of grad school and beautifully weird.

She hates my movies, and my kids adore her.

I couldn’t sleep last night because she wasn’t here.

Turns out I can’t sleep unless she’s in my house now.

Turns out she’s what’s been missing from my life all along.

If my friend had any idea what I want to do to his gorgeous troublemaker of a sister, he would smother me with a pillow.

The chances of us succeeding as a couple are about as good as that little indie movie that I made being a huge hit.

But it’s a chance I’m going to take.

Absolutely EPIC in Full Cast Duet Audio!

Oh sure, take my favorite (4 of my many favorites LOL) narrators and re-record one of my favorite books on audio for a fundraiser for the Palisades Wildfire relief? You got me, Kayley, and it was worth every second.

I love ALL of these narrators.

If Mary Poppins and Bill Murray had a baby it would be Willa. That's from the synopsis and it is SO funny and SO true.

Shane is a former child/Disney star and Willa is his best friend's sister. When Shane needs a nanny - NOW - and Willa has just returned to the US after a few years abroad, it's a no-brainer, right?

Except Shane is the only boy that Willa has ever loved - in a childhood crush, unrequited kind of way. Now they're together every day and those *feelings* she had 10 years ago are back with the vengeance. And he's starting to feel things that have nothing to do with exhaustion and insomnia.

Kayley Loring is a guaranteed 5 star read. Always fun, often funny, frequently passionate in all the ways.

Don't miss this one on audio - the original is excellent, the Pacific Palisades re-make is EPIC.

Excellent narration

I’ve read the story before but the Palisades edition with duet (full cast?) narration of Sleeper was excellent. Erin Mallon, Connor Crais, Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder are all familiar narrators. They did a fabulous job.

The story was a cute brother’s best friend/celebrity/temporary nanny situation with all the humor you expect from a Kayley Loring book. I thought the bonus author’s note at the end was especially sweet,

Wonderfully done!

This is a nice listen! I enjoyed a lot of different things about it. Willa’s job or aspiring job is so different from what I have read before. Her mention of different layers of scents was wonderful as was her love of smells and essential oils. Shane just seems off. For a big star he sure didn’t get recognized much. I loved his daily sleep journal writings. The best thing about him are his two adorable children. I loved their antics and how involved in the story they were. I mean Pocket Snacks! The last thing is the connection between Willa and Shane...that first kiss was sexy as heck!

I did listen to this on audio and Erin Mallon, Connor Crais, Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke did a super job. This is a wonderful duet that is enjoyable and funny.

Audio gold for a fun story

Kayley Loring writes such fun stories with the best dialogue, don't hesitate to grab this gem! A tired dad, a nerdy, beautiful perfumer plus hilarious twins make for an entertaining listen you won't want to pause.

Perfect Audio Experience

As a longtime fan of Kayley Loring, I was so excited to listen to this newly re-recorded version of one of my favorite books—and it absolutely delivered.
The new cast of narrators is outstanding. Each voice brought a unique layer of charm, humor, and emotion to the characters, making the story feel fresh and even more immersive than I remembered.
Their performances made me laugh, tear up, and smile like a goof. It’s amazing how the right narrators can breathe new life into a beloved story.

The book itself is classic Loring—sweet, sexy, and full of heart. Shane, the single dad, is such a sincere and lovable character, and Willa is wonderfull and genuine. Their chemistry is perfect, and the twins are hilarious and sweet. I especially loved how Willa’s passion for creating scents gave the story a unique, sensory richness. Between the brilliant writing and the incredible narration, this audiobook was a complete delight from start to finish.

If you're already a fan of Kayley Loring, this is a must-listen. And if you're new to her books— that's a great place to start.
