Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

is "Kay-lynn", however it IS written as "Kah" and "len" which pronounced as spelled sounds like Call-in.

I too found the pronunciation confusing, but let's be fair, Goodkind should have spelled her name Kaylyn or even Kalyn. Yes, I agree the reader should have listened to previous books or at the very least, some editor should have corrected this, but I thought the possible reason for this mispronunciation should be pointed out as valid considering the spelling.

As to the series itself, I am seriously thinking of moving on to another series as Richard and Kahlen is starting to wear on me. So too is the desire to keep people in that Rada'Han...I mean the so called "good" people are constantly doing that!

And what's with all this torture stuff?

I love the t.v. series much, much better!

The pronunciation of Kahlen's name

I had read all of the Sword of the Truth series in book form up to the last three. When they were finally released on Audible, I decided to listen to them again.

This series is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. The only downside is the narrator in this one. His constant mispronunciation of Kahlan's name (it's pronounced Kay-len) is an extreme distraction. His accents are fairly annoying as well.

Great book, bad narrator

It's sad because it really could be a great book... But the performance issues are hard to ignore. Not only are the names of major characters and places pronounced differently than in past books, women's voices, in particular, are unbearable.

Poor performance

Even though the narrator said Kahlan name different, it was still good voicing. Still would be nice to have a consistent person doing the narration. Such a great story.

Great book.

Frustrating to say the least.

Was this a story that needed to be told? not really. you could skip this one and not miss a beat. that being said I still enjoyed it.
