Reseñas de la Crítica

"The Immigrant's Wife is a vivid and haunting novel told with great precision and heart. You can't help but root for Charles and Anna, two star-crossed strivers making their way in an unforgiving world. Jennifer Harris has written a transporting debut."—Christopher Castellani, author of Leading Men

“Jennifer Harris shows a real talent for character, place, period. She moves in Edith Wharton's circle, both in talent and tone in The Immigrant’s Wife."—Dan Weaver, editor in chief of Nation Books in New York City, Faber & Faber, Inc. in Boston, senior editor at Viking Penguin and McGraw-Hill in New York City

The Immigrant's Wife blew me away with its beautifully imagined story. The narration was also stunning - what a perfect match of talents. The story flows effortlessly and never really lulls but that could depend on how much you enjoy vivid and well written details of everyday life (at least the first half). The emotions in this book are heavy and the feelings you experience are visceral. This can be difficult to get through for that reason but if you enjoy a book that can truly make you feel, this is an absolutely fantastic read.

How do you like your emotional damage? How about well done?

TBH, this took me by surprise! I decided to listen because Julia Whelan is the narrator and, well, the story blew me away... beautiful, sad, real. If you like Kristin Hannah or Amy Harmon, THIS IS A MUST READ/LISTEN
