The Love Potion

Can a love potion help her find real love—or just make her see what’s been there all along?

Ally Hawkins has never had a Valentine’s Day date—but this is her year. She can feel it in her endlessly optimistic heart. So when she stumbles upon a love potion at a county fair, she figures…why not? It’s silly, it’s smelly, and she’s a grown woman. But then—bam—the very guy she’s been crushing on asks her to lunch. Coincidence? She thinks not.

But while Ally’s busy swooning, her office BFF Josh Wise starts acting weird. Distant. Not his usual flirty, funny, charming self. And Ally realizes she might miss him more than she expected. Maybe the potion isn’t magic at all, maybe it’s just opening her eyes.

Now she’ll have to figure out what (or who) she really wants…before the spell wears off for good.

Read - Needs Focus

The story was great. Difficult to decipher between a couple of the male characters when they were being talked about. Overall definitely listen to it!

Charming closed door romance

Everything about the plot, from who’s the secret author to how the romance would end, was 100% predictable. But, in the name of cream puff rom-coms, that’s 100% okay with me. The love potion was nothing more than a gimmick for Ali’s beyond rose-colored glasses, making this simply contemporary romance. Without any naughty bits, anything longer would have lost me. Luckily, the novella length was perfect for a feel-good pick me up.

Is the love potion for real?

This story was fun. It's a short story, so it's a quick listen. Loved the going away cake scene for Chase. The narrator is good at expressing emotion.

Short and sweet!

So cute! And it had Chase from The Accidental Text! (I’d recommend you read that one first but it doesn’t really matter) I do wish there had been more interaction between the characters especially outside of work which would’ve made it longer.

I also enjoyed the narrator who did both genders well.

Fun story

Would have liked a little more of the story, but I really enjoyed it!
