Raw and beautiful!

This was such a raw and realistic peek into relationships of many kinds-marriage, child/step-child, ex-spouses, friendships. The story does not shy away from trauma and how it impacts every aspect of our lives. Excellent performances by Teddy and Joe, as always!

Emotional Read

This was an emotional read. Jesse and Leo are a married couple who go through the trauma of losing a child she was stillborn. Jesse doesn't know how to reach his husband Leo is beyond devastated with the lost. Jesse has a daughter Raine with his best friend Zara who they had in high school Zara was also there surrogate. I really liked how this book was written. They weren't rich they had regular jobs Jesse was a mechanic and Leo worked at a call center until he lost his job. Leo wanted to run from the grief he asked for a divorce he moved in with his best friend. Jesse was trying to hold his family together and didn't let himself grieve. Raine didn't show her grief because Leo couldn't look at her each one of them grieving alone and not together as a family. Because of his bad actions Leo has some consequences to face and in a since they both do. I read and listened to this book on audio. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I also loved the narration of this book.

Beautiful story

There are few books that I read/listen to that make me cry but this one did - more than once. It’s a beautiful, emotional story and the narration is perfection. It does cover serious subjects but as someone who has experienced some of these events, it rings very true.
