A great selection of poems, though some are not complete. The author explains that these poems are long and might appeal to a child better in a shorter version. The virtual voice is much better than expected, except when reading some non verbal elements such as “underscore “. I enjoyed reading this book.

Nice little book

I liked the old favorites. It's good to see that they are still around. They are poems that everyone knows and, as the author said at the end of the book, poetry has almost become a lost art. Families used to sit together and read poetry. One was also able to attend poetry readings in public places. These things have all but disappeared in my lifetime. With smartphones, computers, DVDs, and satellite TVs, people are too distracted. I am so glad that I was exposed to poetry at a very early age, because it became a lifelong pursuit for me. This is an excellent book! 👍

It is the ripe moment for me poetry . It is not tongue in cheek but is a statement of simple realism. A fine crafted poem opens a portal to infinity in finite time . Do yourself a favor and listen to this

Poetry is not a great genre for audio book in general but definitely not for virtual narration.

It made me sad that a child might listen to this. Loved the title. Loved much of the content. However, the virtual voice was basically monotone and the readings of most poems fell flat. I can only imagine a child concluding that poetry is boring.

I have listened to other fabulous poetry slections on Audible. I wish this audio book could have had a smiliar heart and a human --- or more nuanced -- reader.
