In 1492: The Relativity of Tomorrow, Dante Vicente Creelson—a NOAA scientist and former Navy pilot—vanishes in a storm off the Atlantic. Instead of drowning in 1992, he awakens in 1482 on the shores of the Caribbean, centuries before Columbus arrives.

Armed with fragments of modern science and bound by the wisdom of the Taíno, Maya, Inca, Aztec, and Rarámuri, Dante faces a choice:

  • Survive as a castaway in a world of stone and spear.
  • Or forge a pan-American alliance strong enough to meet the future head-on.

From solar gliders soaring over the Andes to electromagnetic sleds racing through copper canyons, from obsidian-lens science rigs to arc-bright weapons of mercy, the peoples of the Americas craft wonders never imagined in history books.

But shadows fall with the year 1492.

Columbus sails west, carrying empire, fire, and conquest. What he finds is no longer a world to claim—but a covenant prepared to stand as one.

I liked that time travel, use of minerals, and ingenuity of craftsmanship was kept clear and easy to follow and picture as you’re reading.
I also felt like the message of hope, camaraderie, and respect for others was developed through every chapter.

Great knowledge of the different customs and skills of the indigenous tribes.

The story is beautiful, inspiring to say the least. My favorite part is how the author did a fantastic job painting pictures with words!
