LIKE LOOKING IN A MIRROR... For better or worse, the battle with the Noctiluca has drawn to a close…for now. The Eighty-Six’s minds are heavy with thoughts of close friends and bitter enemies swallowed by the cold, dark abyss. Among the casualties are Shana, Shiden’s vice captain, joining the fallen in their watery grave, and Theo, whose loss of his left hand had all but sealed his fate as a Processor. As Shiden swears revenge, Kurena, who blames herself for Shana’s death, cracks beneath the weight of her guilt. While the Eighty-Six struggle to pick up the pieces, though, the Legion inexorably pursue their bloodless objective, and the Noctiluca has reportedly taken refuge in the surviving Holy Theocracy of Noiryanaruse. Now Shin and company must set foot in the mysterious western nation of which even the United Kingdom and the Federacy are wary… Science Fiction Adventure Military

There’s a lot of new things introduced in this book and it can feel bit overwhelming, but Suzie and Stephen’s performance was excellent as always. The audio splicing was also better compared to the last volume.

However, I did notice a mistake in chapter 3. There was a part that was read twice by both narrators. They both read it well, but it was something I noticed.

Dense with content but read very well

Up until now, harming other people has not been a subject of 86. And up until now, there was unity in the face of a common threat with only slight whisperings moving in the background. But now it seems the foundation for inner conflict is set and I can't wait for it. Whether it be oliviae's simulated battle with shin, the betrayal in this volume, or the fact that there's a information breach in the federacy military. All of it points to a new threat that should be revealing itself shortly.

:)

The building tension is great
