I received this audiobook free for an honest review. Again Barbara Goss delivers an excellent great story that will fill your heart. Cameron wants to run for the State Senate and is told his chances are better if he has a family. He orders a mail-order bride and marries her by proxy and in the mean time adopts two orphans. Hannah enters this marriage unaware of the lies that Cameron has told her. The author provided a well rounded story that keeps your interest from beginning to end. It is great to see how God works in their marriage. The narrator did an excellent job with the characters, their personalities and the overall story.

I enjoyed listening to this book. Narration was good. Hannah needs to start her life over and decides to marry Cameron to accomplish it. She marries by proxy and heads to Kansas. She thought life would be better, but her new husband is not being truthful. You cannot start a marriage with lies. She can't leave, as she loves the children already. What can she do now. Follow her journey with faith in God to help her along the way.

This is an excellent book. It has a murder mystery in it also. Cameron want to become senator and thinks his chances will be better if he has a family. He gets married by proxy. He tells her a lot of lies that comes out in the end. He could not have picked a better wife. Barbara Goss wrote another great book. Scott Bennett did an excellent job narrating this book. I was giving a free copy of this book but that had no influence on my review.

Wonderful story of a smart, proxy bride who moves in to change the world of the serious, single lawyer wanting to appear to be a family man. After listening to some non-fiction books recently about what it was like for women in the 1800s and early 1900s I related to this book on another level. I liked that there were two story lines going for awhile one Hannah got on the case of the murder.

I like the way Barbara sprinkles Christianity and God's love into her books as well. I especially loved the message of grace as it relates to the women of ill repute and the reality that we don't know what really happens in others' lives. I love J. Scott Bennet's voice for this book. He did another great job!

Enjoyed the couple's partnership and sleuthing

The Proxy Bride Series is a sweet Christian series that takes you back in time to when people spent their evenings sitting on the porch in rocking chairs and sipping hand squeezed lemonade. There is just something about the stories that makes you sit back and say, "Ahh!".

The story of Cameron and Hannah starts out on the deceptive side. Cameron has decided to run for office and is told his chances are better if he has a family. Enter the mail-order bride concept and the orphan train. Soon he has his family. Hannah is a godly woman and has no idea what Cameron has done. Once Cameron accompanies her to church, he decides he can't keep the truth from her anymore. Will he lose everything he now holds dear?

The narration by J. Scott Bennett was fantastic! What a great voice for a western story.
