Eleanor Trewynn is a recently retired widow who has moved to the small village of Port Mabyn in Cornwall. Accused of the crime, Nick ends up in jail, while Detective Inspector Scumble and DS Megan Pencarrow, Eleanor's niece, investigate. The second in the Cornish Mystery Series finds Eleanor Trewynn's neighbor, artist Nick Gresham returning from a trip only to find several of his paintings destroyed . . . slashed by another artist, Geoffrey Clarke. When Nick goes to confront Geoffrey, taking Eleanor along, they find the man in his studio with a knife in his back . . . dead. With Nick the main suspect, Eleanor takes it into her own hands to help the investigation along . . . to the dismay of Detective Inspector Scumble. 😂 Eleanor learns that there are plenty of folks that disliked Geoffrey Clarke enough to wish him dead. But which one of them actually did the deed? This is an easy listen, with fun details about Eleanor, her dog Teazle, and her niece, DS Megan Pencarrow. I like the fact that Eleanor is always collecting things for the charity shop where she works and keeping busy in the small fishing village.

I love the characters, descriptions of the Cornish countryside, plot and the narration. All excellent and lots of fun!

Great cozy mystery.

Good narration. I felt the culprit was rather obvious several chapters before the detectives figure things out, but still good. No violence or vulgarity.

I love these sweet little old lady mysteries. They can always figure out who did it. The humor and mystery in this book was very enjoyable. The characters were wonderful. I enjoyed the story and the narration. Wanda McCaddon. did a terrific job.
