Not the least bit vulgar unless you are a prude...

and if the reader tends to be on the priggish side, I would recommend one of the many clean/inspirational novels on offer. In fact, I would have enjoyed more explicit steam in the writing but realize it must be difficult for an author to please everyone. After all, people draw their lines in different places and I feel that as a book belongs to the writer, it is their prerogative to write at their comfort level (as long as the scenes are sex positive and consensual).

I enjoyed the tale although the plot was a bit unoriginal. However, it did hold my interest to the end. The narrator's voice could have used more animation and inflection; it was somewhat monotonous. I liked the gravelly deepness of his voice but found it necessary to turn the speed up to 1.15.

So sorry, I hated it

I tried so hard with this book. I could hardly understand the narrator at first and even after I finally got used to his speech and accent, I could barely stand to listen. He has a low deep voice and he reads the book like he’s talking really quietly to someone right next to him. I couldn’t HEAR him! it drove me nuts. I persevered nonetheless, trying really hard to get into the story. But I just couldn’t stand it and gave up.

It’s about a young woman with some mysterious past that she is hiding, who comes to work as a cook at a rich cowboy’s ranch in the 1890s. The cowboy starts in immediately kissing and pawing her even tho he is engaged to another woman. There’s a murder mystery component with the young woman’s dad being a suspect and hiding in plain sight at the ranch under an assumed name. I honestly couldn’t give a crap. I could not follow the story because I couldn’t hear the dang narrator the way he talks SO LOW and has a thick accent. Hated this!!!! Mad I wasted time and money!!!!
