Lucy Drake's mastery of Morse code has made her a valuable asset to the American news agencies as a telegrapher. But the sudden arrival of Sir Colin Beckwith at rival British news agency Reuters puts her hard-earned livelihood at risk. Newly arrived from London, Colin is talented, handsome, and insufferably charming.

Despite their rivalry, Lucy realizes Colin's connections could be just what her family needs to turn the tide of their long legal battle over the fortune they were swindled out of 40 years ago. When she negotiates an unlikely alliance with him, neither of them realizes how far the web of treachery they're wading into will take them.

I enjoyed the narration. I can’t stand phony male voices from female readers but this was wonderful to listen to.

I loved the narrator. The story line was fantastic with turns and curves of deceit. Wonderful romance mixed in with integrity.

Full of adventure

I liked it. The writing was good and the MCs developed but... There was an insufficient amount of romance. Sure it was sprinkled into the story here and there but not enough to pull at any heart strings. The book was mostly about David fighting Goliath with a bit of mystery. That interesting, especially how it was loosely tied to American History. However, there was too much jumping from situation to situation and no tying the 2 MCs destinies together. until the last minute. That made the book drag at times and make some sections feel tedious and unnecessary. Unfortunately, there was also no big karma conclusion in the suggested HEA. We see a bit of a comeuppance but not from the culprits POV, we don'tsee them suffer for what they'redone to this sibling pair. I found that to be a huge detriment to my enjoyment. Basically the author shrugs and gives the impression of "Oh well you can't win against money" which is completely contrary to the American dream.she touts throughout the book. The MCs may have been ok with it but they aren't the audience.

Luckily the narration was exceptional or my rating would have been lower.

Good. unique but at times bizarre.
