After the Second Kingside War, magical folks like baker Lillie Dean are once again able to live freely and use magic openly. Lillie is taking this new freedom to heart, and has just moved to the seaside town of Silverkeep to start a brand new bakery and begin her life again.

But all is not sweet in the idyllic village, especially when Lillie gets a threatening note saying if she doesn't get out of town, everyone will find out about her villainous past. When other magical creatures start receiving similar threats, Lillie puts on her sleuthing hat to find out who's causing all the consternation — and why they've got a vendetta against magical creatures.

A Drizzle of Magic is the first book in the Pobyd Perfections Bakery Cozy Mystery Fantasy series.

Note: While A Drizzle of Magic is set in the same world as the cozy fantasy mystery series The Weary Dragon Inn, it isn't necessary to have listened to that series first.

Such a lovely book! I was pulled in by the premise. a baker with a villainous past? Sign me up! I really liked Lily and all of the characters. My favorite is definitely Rey loll, even though he showed up more towards the end of the book.

I found the story leaned a bit more towards cozy with a pleasant mystery weaved between. I loved the conclusion, although I would have liked for the reveal to have been a bit more shocking. But then again, I didn't guess correctly so take that as you will Haha. Thoroughly enjoyed and will dive into book 2!

As for the narrator, 10/10. beautiful performance that really pulled me into the world of Lily Dean. She used different voices for different characters, adding distinctive twists to all of them. I think I may have found my new favorite narrator.

amazing story and amazing narrator
