A footman turned earl's son and a lady with her nose in a book—could they possibly find love amidst the whispers of the ton?

Lady Juniper Amberton is content to live in the shadows of high society, much preferring the company of a good Gothic novel to the endless parade of suitors. Her creative spirit and quiet charm make her unusual among the ton, but Juniper knows the rules of her world: daughters of earls marry well, not for love. That is, until the son of an earl—once the humble servant to a duke—steps back into her life.

John "Jack" Sterling has spent years guarding nobility, never imagining he would one day become part of their ranks. Now, elevated to a new social station, Jack finds himself navigating the murky waters of London society, where his family is closely scrutinized. He never expected to cross paths with Lady Juniper as equals, but the same woman who once painted his portrait is now the one captivating his heart.

As their worlds collide once again, Jack and Juniper must walk the fine line between what society demands and what their hearts truly want. But with gossip swirling around Jack’s family and the weight of their past roles looming over them, can they find the courage to rewrite their futures together?

This novel is a sweet regency romance that can be enjoyed as a standalone, but listeners of the previous books will delight in seeing familiar faces and settings once more.

This started out as good as the others in the series, but, then the author got stuck on how they looked at and thought about and wondered about each other. On and on with things unnecessary to the development of the relationship. These parts were sappy and boring. The rest of the story was good.

This narrator is great, as always.

I’ve enjoyed every book in this series. I appreciate the clean wholesome romance and that it’s just a nice story with a believable conflict and a happy ending. The narrator is fantastic. I’m looking forward to the next book. Please keep writing.

I love book series! And the cliffhangers at the end of each of the books in this series keep you anxiously waiting for the next book! I love the storylines. Learning of family life, proper etiquette, and upstanding courtship is a delight and most appreciated! There's mystery, surprise, humor and more. But always happily ever after! I also want to thank Ms. Britton for not adding things that were said to be popular during that period, e.g., anything having to do with spiritism or the like. These are excellent clean stories that can be enjoyed by the entire family. My one wish is to have hardcopies the series also, and that the author writes many, many more books in this series!

An enjoyable series!!!
