After her father’s death, Sophia Bennett is left with nothing but piling debt. Getting a position as a governess to the Duke of Ravenshire's niece and nephew might be her only option to get out of this predicament. Could her meeting with the enigmatic master of the house be the start of the most improbable romance?

Algernon Kingsley, Duke of Ravenshire, has never forgiven his sister for choosing love over duty and marrying a commoner. Now, with both her and her husband gone, he is left to raise their children—and confront memories he has long tried to forget. When the new governess he hires for help defies his every order, little does he know that love might have just found him…

In a house leaden with oppression, Sophia and Algernon’s opposite demeanors often clash, yet their attraction is undeniable. Can their newly found bond survive the head nursemaid’s machinations, and the re-appearance of a lady from Algernon’s past? Will Sophia and the duke give in to a love beyond class and duty?

"A Governess to Guide the Duke’s Heart" is a historical romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

An interesting and well written plot. Good characters. The virtual voice detracts from enjoying the story.

The story was excellent. I would like to comment on the narration. When we were kids we were given a thorough education IN GRADE SCHOOL on proper pronunciation and use of the English language. Now not just the virtual but thr real narrators have a new pronunciation language it seems. Point in fact that thist narrator could not decide on proper pronouncement of Sophia
Let us not forget even if narration was computer generated, at some point a human did the input of data for the computer.
