New York Times bestselling author Cathy Maxwell begins a spectacular new series, the Gambler’s Daughters. Three aristocratic sisters must use their wits and wiles to make their ways in Regency London...only to learn the path to making a brilliant society marriage isn’t easy—especially when Love gets in the way!

To Marry a Duke…

Once there were three Irish sisters—Gwendolyn, Dara, and Elise—who had to fend for themselves when their gambler of a father disappeared, leaving them with an unscrupulous cousin. Dara hatches a daring plan: they gamble what little they own to finance a London season. Her goal: to use their looks and their wits to find a duke to marry for each sister!

It seems her crazy plot might work when the sisters are declared the “Incomparables” of the Season. Dukes and lords line up at their door, but bold women and scandal always go hand in hand. Particularly when Dara’s plans are challenged by the likes of Michael Brogan, who provokes Dara as much as he tempts her. The handsome, clever, and rising politician is definitely not a duke, but he’s determined to teach her about ambition, men, and, above all, love, making Dara wonder if her plans are about to change.

Peopled with characters full of personality, a story that kept me engaged and enough chemistry to drive the take. I’ve read Cathy Maxwell before, but this time I’m excited for the next installment.

Excellent narrative,
Creditworthy!

this should have been a novella. half the length might have made it interesting. narrator sounds like a shaky old lady.

mundane subject but interesting characters

At times I found this story very boring . I liked the characters and the world that is being built, but there is a lot going on at once.
I had trouble connecting to the main couple, and was more interested the other characters because they were overshadowed by more interesting characters .
I feel that this book was written in order to set up the other books to come in this series. I am looking forward to Gwendolyn and Beckett Steelers story and plan to continue with the series

Cathy always delivers a hreat plot, story and premise. This is no diiferent. I hopefully will no doubt enjoy the other 2 sisyers tales. I look forward to them.
However, I am not a fan of this narrator. her crackly voice was jarring at times. When speaking as a charachter it was fine. Yet inner tjoight and discriprion gelt like an old lady who could barely scratch out a word, felt odd.

Elise and Gwendalyn are interesting and I cant wait for Steels story.
write on fear one, I am a hopelessly devoted Maxwell fan.

I listened twice....thinking I might like the book/characters better the second time around. Nope....still don't like the characters.

Good story, unlikeable characters in Irish sisters
