Seeing Pierre in person has me stammering and blushing—two things I don’t usually do.

Imagine my surprise when I receive a call a few weeks after meeting Pierre—from his agent—proposing marriage. Not that I’d marry his agent.

They want me to marry Pierre.

Well, that was adorable! I don’t usually go for romances featuring MCs who are authors, but this book managed to thread the needle, giving quotes from real romance books and writer shop-talk without overdoing it. I also don’t care for French (I know it’s the language of love, but I grew up on Pepe Le Pew, where French was smarmy), but I was charmed by the duet narration and thought both narrators did a fabulous jobs with all the French accents and characters.

My only quibble about the story was that I didn’t feel the sizzle from Pierre until the very end. Perhaps the writing worked too well to convince me that Pierre was so jaded that he could only see her as a friend. Or perhaps it was her infatuation with him that made the romance unbalanced. Nonetheless, the story and the characters rallied and I had all the feels by the cozy, closed door end.

Now, if only someone could explain the lure of the faceless pod-people on the cover art.
Eek, talk about creepy mannequins.

A Not So Fictional Fall

I loved this book! A great Fall read for you to get cozy and comfy with. Marriage of convenience isn’t my favorite trope, but this was written so nicely I really liked it. I loved that Pierre was an author and Tasha was a bookstagrammer and audiobook narrator. These characters were so easy to connect with. The small town feel and family connection that both Tasha and Pierre have with their separate families but then how they connected with each others family was just perfection.

One of my favorite parts of the book were the quotes by other authors ash the beginning of each chapter. There were just so many good ones.

This a closed door clean read, with only kisses and no language.

This is book one in the Cataloochee Coffee Shop series. But also book six in the Sweater Weather Series, a multi author series.

the guys French accent is heinous. should have previewed before buying. he sounds pretentious. the story is okay though.

The perfect fall romance!

Oh! My! Gosh! This book! This man! As always with Savannah Scott books… I purchased the Kindle version as soon as it came out. Loved it reread it and loved it all over again. Now the audible version is available and (insert swoony french phrase here) ….. so so good! These characters are warm and witty and fun. The love story is believable and accessible, but so romantic. When I grow up, I want to live in Harvest Hollow! 10 out of 10 recommend.
