The male narrator has a rather peculiar vocal pattern.

In the first book there was nary a Bastian narrated chapter so his impact was minimal. For the second book, his appearance always took me out of the story. Now with the third, the rhythm of his speech is so distracting I feel as if the story is secondary in my attempts to overcome the discomfort of his pacing.

The Male Narrator sucks.. but it becomes white noise.

idk why the male narrator felt that every. single. sentence. needed so much drama and upward inflection- it took away from the story at times. The story itself was awesome! I would love to see this series go farther. Bastian is now my #3 Shadow Daddy, lol.

Story line

Story line was fantastic but the male narrator was unbearable. Otherwise the book was great.

The story itself was great- lots of action, shockers, great relationship building, but the male narrator was absolutely HORRIBLE. Thank goodness the female one saved the story.

Decent series, first audiobook I hated listening to. Ever.

If you don’t want to hear Bastian’s POV voiced in the style of British Forrest Gump, better just read this one.
