Good listen

This was quite the mystery romance. By the end we have a romance and some mysteries solved. Some of the heroine's memories return, and some of the memories could have knocked me over with a feather!! An enjoyable story with some mysteries to come. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a good job bringing the characters and story to life.

This book was one of the most enjoyable that I've listened to all year! The FMC Scarlett is so quirky and cringy. I found myself giggling out loud many times.

Scarlett is hilarious. She made a mean post on an influencer's page and then is immediately convinced that post somehow made the influencer go missing. She is determined to try to solve this mystery while staying out of the way of the new detective in town, Dylan. She and Dylan didn't have the best first impression as she trod on his foot and then proceeded to embarrass herself.

Scarlett has some unresolved things from her past that do contribute to her perceived responsibility.

The narration on this book was so engaging. I just loved it!

Intrigue and Romance!

Scarlett and Dylan’s investigation is entertaining and full of charm — a cozy mystery with just the right mix of intrigue and romance. The story is sweet, fun, and sprinkled with witty banter, slow burn romance, and twists that keep you engaged from start to finish. Charlie Albers has a lovely, easy-to-listen-to voice, and she does a great job bringing the characters and the story to life. Kept me listening!

The only thing that would have made this book even better is the addition of a male narrator for Dylan’s character. (Even though Charlie Albers does an excellent job!) The love/hate relationship between Scarlett and Dylan made for interesting listening along with the myriad of characters from the small quaint seaside village where the story takes place. There were quite a few twists and turns that were somewhat unexpected. Loved how Dylan truly cares for Scarlett and their adventures to their HEA.
