From USA Today bestselling author Paullina Simons comes a fascinating novel of love, betrayal, and the price of passion.

Nothing is ever as it seems…

Larissa Stark is many things. Wife, mother, devoted friend, and unhappy. Her seemingly charmed life in a New Jersey suburb should leave her fulfilled and content. Instead, she feels increasingly isolated and empty. But when she has a chance encounter with an intriguing stranger, her idyllic existence is exposed for the sham it is and leads her to question everything she once firmly believed.

As Larissa is faced with one impossible choice after another, she begins to contemplate the unthinkable and struggles with the question that will inevitably change the course of her life: how does one woman follow a divided heart?

Spanning the affluent suburbs of New Jersey, the slums of Manila, and the desolate beauty of the Australian outback, A Song in the Daylight is an unforgettable, powerful story of the bonds that unite us—and the desires that can ultimately drive us apart.

This is the best fictional piece I’ve ever heard! Fantastic narrator. Long listening time!
I love how this author writes. Don’t start this book on Friday. You won’t get anything done all weekend .

Paullina Simons never ceases to surprise. I would have never guessed which way this story would go. There are so many twists and turn, and as always I hold my breath and I cannot put the book down until I find out what happens. I love this writer! Also well done on the performance the person reading with so many foreign accents!

Unpredictable

I hated all the characters and could not wait for for the book to be over. Not the Bronze Horseman!

Awful characters

One of the best books I’ve ever read. Shocking and Moving. A deep and tragic story but also, uplifting because there is a vein of acceptance and survival in the people left behind. So many questions were stirred while listening, the biggest one being, How could she? And the ultimate answer was, because she couldn’t help herself.

Well-written, excellent narration and could not stop listening.

And by “new” I don’t mean the story, tho I can’t say I’ve ever read another like it, but what I am feeling after having just finished it is so new that it’s foreign to me and I have no idea whatsoever how to define or describe it.

I can’t even write a ‘proper review’ because of it.

So for now, until I’ve had some time to process and analyze and really have a -think- with thoughtful consideration I’ll just say——

This is not The Bronze Horseman. However, the same raw, unfiltered and visceral emotions evoked from me as I read TBH were also stirred and wrenched from me in this story too.

Read it.
Read the book.

At 38 years old I’ve never felt more validated during certain points of a story. Never felt more…… normal. Like, “ok maybe I’m NOT the only one. Maybe I’m not a freak of maternal nature after all. “
And then three chapters later be so repulsed by the character who made me feel those things in the first place because then I was utterly ashamed of myself for having defended and championed for that character who later I only wanted to see be served the same dose they’d forced everyone else to take.

Read. The. Book.
