For Esme, accepting the task is easy; finding the egg after Grigori has been brutally murdered while also being forced to mentor a bullheaded mystic detective in the middle of a family squabble is the trickier part. And things just seem to get more complicated from there. But Esme has little choice. Either she brings Elric the egg, or she'll end up as dragon kibble.

A very fun adventure into trinkets and lore

Fun and with great narration the story weaves a an interesting tale of magic, mystery, friendship, and trinkets.
Trinkets are what it’s all about.

Why isn't there a sequel?

This story was a really great read. Great world building and cast of characters. It says book one on the title page and I'm wondering what happened and why there isn't booked two and three? I hope the author someday writes more in this series.

Loved

Honestly I wasn’t sure I would like this book BUT once it started I couldn’t get enough of it. Every twist and turn leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to read the second edition in this series so hopefully there is one.

Better than expected

The first chapter didn’t give me a ton of hope, I powered through the beginning and ended up finding myself disappointed that a sequel isn’t around the corner

Totally enjoyed this book. Intrigued with the intersecting lives of the characters. The world creation was believable and easily understood. Can’t wait to read the next one.
