I am naked, bruised, and clutching a blood-stained Oscar statue.

I didn't mean to kill him. The last thing I want is the director of my film—my first big role—dead.

Now the cops are here, and even though it's obviously self-defense, I'm done for...my life is over. I'll never work in this town again even if I manage to avoid jail time. I'll be infamous instead of famous.

Temperance Johnson is straight out of central casting—a spy master with tiger's eyes and unnatural grace—a real killer.

He offers me a solution. He'll sweep all this under the rug and help me reach my goals if I work for him. Well, for the government. There is a long history of spies in Tinseltown; we have the perfect cover, and we're good at lying.

I always wanted to be a star, and I never considered becoming a spy. Now I'm both.

I’m a big fan of this author. I the halting rhythm of the narrator, combined with her breathy tone, do the author’s work a disservice.

Excellent story

I like the story and I like the characters, but the narrator's voice was kind of grating, and it took me several chapters to get used to. It was also annoying how the telephone conversations in the story were distorted. It took me out of the story instead of bringing me more into it. I like that Angela's voice had a raspiness to it, like Demi Moore's, but to have it be used for the whole story was distracting.

Fun Story with Engaging Characters

This new female protagonist may not be as bad ass as Sydney Rye (and there's no Blue), but by the end of the story she's become more compelling. The narrator definitely takes some getting used to; so I wouldn't bypass this audio book based on some of the negative reviews of the narration. All in all, a good book worth listening to.

Stick with it

Hated the narrator’s voice. Hated the sound effects. Throws me off getting lost in the story.

Just okay
