Reunited with Aria Duo, Kael Lin thought he had finally found sanctuary within the Hidden Moon Sect. But in the ruthless world of cultivation, peace is nothing more than a pause between battles.

While the Star River Sect’s vengeance is temporarily held at bay, a new crisis emerges: his friends are hitting a cultivation wall that only the legendary Foundation Establishment Pill can break. Refusing to let them fall behind, Kael steps out of the safety of the sect’s array and into the perilous Ancient Forest.

But the forest holds more than just rare herbs and demon beasts. Kael finds himself trapped in a team of treacherous allies, staring down a terrifying Flame Tiger. Yet, the true danger isn't the beast in front of him—it’s the shadow lurking behind him.

Book #2 in this series was great! I enjoyed it just as much as the first one, and now I really wish there were more books available. I seriously hope we eventually get an author page and a proper series page so it’s easier to follow future releases.

This story is just so much fun. I love all the different cultivation elements — the alchemy, the professions, the martial paths, and the sect conflicts. There’s always something happening, and it never feels stagnant.

What I enjoy most is watching a main character with huge potential grow in a world filled with ruthless, opportunistic people. The stakes feel real. I especially liked how he handles setbacks — even something like being placed on a blacklist becomes another challenge to overcome rather than a wall that stops him.

The progression feels meaningful, the world feels dangerous, and the grind is satisfying. I’m really hoping this series continues because I’m absolutely invested at this point.

The MC drags along Rook, who has zero common sense. And also makes pretty much every interaction annoying and drawn out. People’s power levels also fluctuate as though the author doesn’t keep up with what’s going on.

Super inconsistent the rules change chapter to chapter. For example in the first book Kale couldn’t use water spirit stones cause he didn’t have the roots for it. Now he uses the first one he finds to obtain a water sprit room. If it’s that easy , why not just get a bunch of them and get more spirit roots?

The MC is also becoming more and more of a typical cultivation tool.
