During the long retreat out of Philadelphia, First Battalion arrives at High Point Special Facility, the Alamo of the US government. Lt. Colonel Lee secures the fort built around the facility but learns of an outbreak in the underground bunker, where the US government is hiding. The president has been infected.

While thousands of laughing infected lay siege to the facility, Sergeant Muldoon, Corporal Rawlings, and a platoon of lightfighters go deep into the bowels of the earth on a deadly mission: terminate the president of the United States.

The president is waiting.

Where’s the rest of the story? The series is fast moving and gut wrenching. We need more. Please hurry and put the next one up. Thanks.

short book for my liking but a pretty good book anyways. R.C. Bray is a master as always. I look forward to the next book in line when it comes out.
I found this one too be a little less disturbing then the previous 3 😆

pretty good book

I waited quite a long time for this to appear on audible. I wish more of the books I enjoyed added additional chapters like this series which seemed to find a way to knock off the likable favorite characters repeatedly while the story line progressed. End to end a page turner and not predictable but enjoyable.

Doesn't wrap it up - but close

I loved the first 3 books in this series, so if you haven't read them, do that first! DiLouie, Knight & McKinney have done another chapter of the crazy clowns and its well worth a vist to their circus of horrors. RC Bray could read a cereal box and make it interesting. He ramps up the scares here, as expected, with his unique gravelly style.

The story is a good follow on and helps wrap up some of the things left hanging and the anticipation set up there. The clowns are evolving, getting smarter, organizing. My only critique is that I enjoyed the chaos of their unpredictable madness in the first 3 and it seems too easy to move them towards a more standard plotline of one group vs another. Emmolating, violent, psychopaths following orders?! The other critique is that they seem to be developing a hive mind (which I think has been done a lot before). The most irritating example of this is a soldier who has been infected by "The Bug" for less than an hour and sitting, wounded and immobile, during that time, somehow knows the Clowns entire master plan. But, those are plot gripes. There are plenty of great moments to balance them out along the way.

The characters, story, writing, and narration, continue to be fun, frightening and entertaining. Buy this book!
