A swooning photographer and a double-crossing superhero come together with electrifying chemistry in an out-of-this-world romantic comedy by the author of All Superheroes Need PR.

From the moment forty-eight alien superheroes crash-landed on Earth, photographer Monika Neumann had a favorite. She’s been crushing on the literally electrifying Taranis ever since she saw the cutie crawling out of his pod. Unfortunately, his popularity isn’t exactly crackling these days. He could use an image boost.

Monika is in. One right photo op and she’ll put her ridiculously hot lightning-bolt-wielding hero back in the public’s favor. The best part is, the mission will bring her closer to Taranis. She’s already looking forward to the sparks. Monika never imagined there’d be a worst part: an accidental recording that reveals Taranis could be more villain than hero. In fact, her pretty golden boy can get kind of ugly.

Going all 007 and spying on Taranis isn’t the adventure in romance and derring-do she expected. Can she trust him? Doubtful. Can she resist him? No way. Is she ready to risk everything on a shimmering Champion with the power to zap her heart in two? Well, yeah.

Critic reviews

“The kind of story that sweeps you up with its chaos and hooks you with its characters…Definitely a must read…”Harlequin Junkie

“Finally, my God! Elizabeth Stephens is the Blerd of my dreams! This novel is a fizzy, fast-talking takedown of celebrity culture, fandom, and the fine print of heroism—with enough heat to melt vibranium. Stephens delivers an absolutely swoony, steamy love letter to the power of reinvention.”—Nikki Payne, author of Pride and Protest

This book is completely out of character for Ms. Elizabeth. She has finally created a really unlikable character. The love/hate relationship between villain/hero and his lover is very clear. The hero/villain has two different personalities and names. Both personalities are easy to distinguish both are bad boys.

The mfc is wild as well. The book takes crazy turns. The steam/spicy levels are:

This was way spicier than the first one. I liked their dynamic and Darius’ growth. I loved that there was no third act break up. Loved the female narrator but I wasn’t a fan of the male narrator as much. I don’t think his voice matched his character but I also felt that way about the first book too.

I absolutely love her work and this novel has not disappointed either. I am so happy I found this author. She is amazing at writing and I love that she writes with woman of color protagonists. I feel like as much as I love reading romance it is always missing women of color who look like me, and even better about this author? She’s in a biracial relationship just like me so her books always make me feel seen and heard, but this series is chef’s kiss, she’s only getting better with time.

Wow she’s done it again!

The first book was amazing, and this second book is FREAKING FACTASTIC!
Monika and Darius, these two will live rent-free in my head for quite some time.
Elizabeth Stephens did not pull any punches. plenty of action, more romance, and the spice is off the charts.
