felt like he just had to finish a book or tie up enough of the foreshadow he could.

Jumped the shark in this one.

Vampires and vampernese can smell each other when they are close. Having Steve end up half vampernese when he spent multiple days in the company of the two champions is so lame, and setting up these tired troupes Darin shan I am disappointed in you. Then on top you worked in all the worst ones, the predictable prisoner exchange Darin making mistake after mistake because of Debbie what a lame ending to what has been a fine series so far. Then the vampernese breaking all of Mr tiny's rules just to manufacture "a desperate cliff hanger ending" I'm sure Steve is actually the vampernese lord hiding in plain sight as well. You might as well worked in the love triangle having Debbie fall for the other prince.

I have been listening /reading this series for 22+ years. Never get tired of it!

Predictable, But Still Very Entertaining

I could see where this was going, but still very entertaining. I guess Mr Hooks was unexpected though. This is an enjoyable series and Ralph Lister does a very solid job. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Great Continuation

The story of Darren as a vampire continues.. many characters return and rounds out this story.
