What doesn’t kill Amber only makes her stronger.

Without any warning, Amber is transported from her dingy student apartment to a fantastical realm with magic, monsters, and a universal System. However, even though she is forcibly ripped from her home and thrust into a dangerous new life, for the first time ever, she finally feels free.

There are no cheats for her. There are no gods to guide her, and some would even laugh in her face. But the pain, the hardships, and the challenges only give her strength. As the first Cursed Berserker seen in over a hundred years, Amber welcomes the world of Vir with a smile on her face.

And she will not be satisfied until she is the strongest.

This is the first litrpg I've listened to here on audible that has annoyed me enough to leave a review. The story itself has so much potential that the terrible quality of the writing is truly disappointing.

If all you want in a story is numbers go up, then this may be exactly what you're looking for. Aside from that, the text is packed with repetitive phrases and simplistic structure.

This really would have benefitted greatly by having a professional editor or two go through it. I would recommend that the primary author take some creative writing classes because there is definitely potential here that simply isn't realized in the end product.

good plot, terrible execution

The book was alright. It wasn't spectacular, but it wasn't completely terrible. I suppose I'd give it a plain toast 5/10.

The two most notable problems I had with the book are as follows. First, as often as the phrase is used the book should be retitled as "Testing Your Limits: A story about testing your limits until your limits are fully tested, and then test your limits more." By the last quarter of the book I began to roll my eyes at the reoccurring phrase. It's almost like the authors thought we might forget the MC's single personality trait. So, they decided to remind us constantly.

My second issue is that Amber, the protagonist, is so one dimensional that it hurt. Look, I get it, she's a berserker-type character, find thing and proceed to hit thing, then find another thing to hit. However, that's no excuse for the main character to have the personality of a plain sheet of printer paper. Other than her stats and skill growth. Amber has zero character growth. No rivals, no romance, no nuance. The authors REALLY need to improve her character in the next book. The side characters actually come off more interesting.

There are other issues, like her overpowered growth just within the first book alone. However, this is litrpg, so that's pretty par for the course in the genre. It could just be done a bit more gracefully.

I honestly stopped listening before the last few chapters. I see potential, but I just found that I lacked the interest to continue. The book definitely feels like it drags on without much happening. I hope the authors make improvements as the series goes on, but I certainly won't be listening to find out.

Writers need a wider vocabulary.

This is my second time reading this book 1st through K U, and now Audible. The audible version was great, the narrator was excellent, a woman reading a story about a female MC, well done. I see both authors, handiwork, and fingerprints on his story. I love both of the authors of the works, including arc which is my favorite storyline. You guys need to give the MC some sort of dimensional storage to carry all her junk around. And as a woman she needs to be able to take baths and stay clean when my wife was listening to this book she was having a fit concerning the lack of cleanliness for the female MC. There. Are a few glitches in the sentence structure in some portions, but it does not take you out of the story. Hope the second book comes out on Audible real soon. Really worth the listen and the read, you won’t go wrong.

Excellent story, great world building, good MC.
