Rookie antiques dealer, Angel Drake, has just made her first deal. She thinks it’s a good one. But the price is higher than she knows. Now she’s implicated in the biggest string of antiques robberies the country’s ever seen.

An inherited shop and a new life in the country - the dream Angel loves is in serious danger. She’s out on a limb with nowhere to go, and if there’s any chance of keeping her new home and business, she must find a way to catch the real thieves, and fast.

The odd customer wouldn’t hurt either. But villagers show more interest in Angel than they do in her stock. The result’s an unusual gang of new friends. From opinionated pensioners to charismatic local gentry, they all have curious pasts to reveal. And soon Angel realises, they each hold a piece of the puzzle she needs.

This village has been hiding secrets.

When Angel unearths them, she is exposed to the wrath of the villains herself. Angel’s never been one to hold back but, it’s clear, that they’ll stop at nothing to silence her forever.

I really enjoyed this story. Despite how frustrating the main character's decision making skills were! The story was great and the performance really set the scene. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a cozy mystery.

Really good fun!

thia was a lovely and enjoyable listen. it took me a bit to get used to the narration, with the British accent, seeing as most books are in American, however, once i did the story just pulled me in.
it an easy breezy mystery as the description says, so if you enjoy the genre but dont enjoy gore and violence, this will be a great fit

a lovely mystey

I am a big fan of cozy mysteries from across the pond and love listening to audiobooks as the perfect companion to sewing. So, I was excited to find a new author and series. I really enjoyed the first Angel Drake book by Sharn Hutton “Nothing Ventured” and was glad when Going Solo came out. Angel Drake, new owner of her aunt’s antique shop in the small village of Pook Wallop, is a perfect addition to the genre of Agatha Raisin and Midsomer Murders. Her new friends including an eccentric old lady, lord of the manor and handsome rival antique dealer provide mysterious pasts of their own and support her in her adventures. Can’t wait for the next installment in this fun series.

A nice British cozy mystery with an interesting cast of characters. When Angel inherits The Antiques Emporium, things go awry as she finds herself smack dab in the middle of the case of the missing antiques.

Shari Hutton has set the groundwork for what is sure to be an interesting series.

This was my first exposure to Helen Taylor’s narration. I though she did a nice job.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Angel Drake is Going Solo by Sharn Hutton pulled me in from the beginning, I love a good British mystery and this one was it. The character of Angel is endearing and quirky. She let her ex-boyfriend off too easy in my opinion. The storyline was original, and had great details and imagery. Helen Taylor is delightful to listen to. She has a smooth delivery and brings the characters to life.
