Rosalie, having always lived in her more beautiful eldest sister's shadow, begins to come into her own. And Jane finds an education she could never have gotten at Oxford in her work as a secretary for Mrs Millard, an eccentric biographer currently residing in the village. Anna's daughters seem to be settling down to their new life until Ronnie, a tall, broad-shouldered scientist, steps into their lives....

Great Story, So-So Performance

One of my favorite D. E. Stevenson stories, Anna and Her Daughters explores some of the problems of sibling rivalry - particularly when one sibling is brilliant. Candida Gubbins' performance is okay, except for her rendering of the hero's voice, which the author describes as a deep voice, but which the narrator has higher than her normal speaking voice and with the cracked quality of a nervous adolescent. Other than that, I enjoyed the reading.

I love this book and the reading of it is marvelous!

I really enjoyed the steadiness and kindness of the main character, Jane. The reader is fantastic!

Moving

This book had a very engaging storyline. The performance was excellent. Perfect ending.
This would be one of the authors top 10 books that I have read so far

Wonderful Story

Such a lovely story. I always enjoy DES’s comforting & cozy stories. I really feel like I get to know the main character’s motivation & thoughts. A lovely view inside the workings of a family at crucial time in their lives and how they bring it to resolution.

Narration was wonderful.

Revisiting

I read this book years ago. On listening to it today, there are so many details I’d forgotten about.
