Terry, secretive and selfish, was far from popular with the rest of the household, but her death shakes the Jubilee Street Creative Artists' Commune, as the squat residents half jokingly call themselves.

And, the more Fran discovers about the death of the young woman whose life briefly intersected with her own, the more she begins to see it was not all it first seemed.

Pretty Good

The book was a bit too long for what it was. Overall it was good, nice narrator.

The Harangue!

I’m sorry—-this is my first poor review, but the narrator sounded from start to, unbelievably, the penultimate chapter, as if she were performing an angry harangue towards the audience. It made it difficult to concentrate and listen to the story. I found myself at times skipping whole chapters because the confluence of a slow plot with no positive events and the haranguing angry delivery made it a chore to listen. I hoped events in the book would bring about a change. The characters were well developed. I hope other Granger- Miss Varady audiobooks will be included in future that will allow us to follow Gamesh, Fran . I hope another included book which includes their story and a NEW narrator ! Thank you! Good luck!

When is this?

I can't figure out when this story is supposed to be happening. Is it the 60s? The 80s? The modern day?

Good story

Surprise ending but understandable. Not sure of the decade setting. That would have been helpful. I get caught up with the demo of old neighborhoods and sometimes get distracted! But well written!
