This title uses virtual voice narration

Virtual voice is computer-generated narration for audiobooks.
The Thornton car was washed down a creek during a flash flood near Independence, Missouri. Their only child, a seventeen year old daughter was still clinging to the top of the car when they last saw her. After an air, land, and water search for four days without a trace, the search was abandoned. Allie and Barry Thornton learn their missing daughter was transported back in time one hundred and fifty years to 1866. A research team at the most prestigious university in the country, offered them the opportunity to join her and her family. Do they dare take the risk? Can Barry survive what appears to be an impending heart attack or stroke? Is their sense of family strong enough for them to risk their lives? Would you? Heartfelt Clean & Wholesome Westerns

Fun story, worth a listen. Too bad the virtual narration is so bad. Virtual narration lacks the correct inflection, punctuation and pronunciation. You can still understand the story, but some words are mispronounced and although you can figure out what the word should be it is very distracting. Example, instead of M.E. (medical examiner) the AI reads it as "me," as in myself. This is a very minor error, there are many others. I always prefer a human narrator.

Great story, but AI narration is lacking...

Interesting idea, but not enough of a story line. Many portions of the story are repeated numerous times throughout the book.

too repetitive

AI is awful the writing is grade school level, there's just nothing to hang on to for very long.... averagely awful

Not enough story

I think it couldn't hold my interest because of the AI voice. often the emphasis wasn't in the right place for me

though there was heart, it couldn't hold my interest

The AI is horrible. No inflection, no emotion and you have absolutely no idea who is speaking because everyone sounds the same.
The story has all the depth of a teaspoon, the characters are less than one-demensional, the situations are poorly executed and there is a total lack of detail.

Narration almost as bad as the story
